Ex-Arsenal Star Samir Nasri questioned over alleged drug money laundering network

Former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has reportedly been questioned by French police over his alleged links to a suspected money laundering network connected to convicted drug trafficker Hakim Berrebouh, popularly known as "Wild Boar."

The 39-year-old former France international, who now works as a football pundit for Canal Plus, was reportedly interrogated for about 10 hours on Thursday before being released later that evening without charge. Authorities have not filed any legal action against him.

The investigation centres on alleged drug importation, criminal conspiracy and the laundering of proceeds from drug trafficking. Detectives are examining Nasri's alleged connections to Berrebouh's criminal network, as well as Olivier Sabbah, also known as "Paulo," who is believed to be a key figure in the suspected money laundering operation.

Investigators are also looking into Nasri's reported involvement with XS nightclub in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne. The former footballer reportedly became a shareholder in the nightclub around 2016 after investing several hundred thousand euros while playing for Manchester City.

Nasri later became a co-owner of the nightclub alongside Bilele Z., one of the venue's regular customers, who was also taken into police custody on Thursday as part of the ongoing investigation.

French authorities have yet to charge the former Premier League star, and the investigation remains ongoing.
